Brett's 30....

Happy 30th Birthday Brett. It was really fun to prepare for his BIG day. About a month ago I sat down with him and asked him what he would like to do for his birthday. I gave him a few options that I thought would be fun to do. Since the Olympics are in Canada this year in Vancouver, B.C. I thought maybe we would like to go and see the Canadian hockey team play. We looked into it and the flights were ridiculously high so we ruled that out. So then I thought maybe he would like to go to a Flames Hockey game with some of his high school buddies. The cool thing about going to a Flames game on or around his 30th Birthday is that the Calgary Flames team is celebrating 30 years as well. So then we got an idea from my Brother-in-law, Scott to go see the Flames play in Phoenix with all the guys in the Woolf family and then they could stay at my parents new house in Peoria, AZ. Zach Davis, a buddy from dental school also came to the game. So we found him really cheap flights out of Great Falls, MT. Joel and Josh got tickets to the Flames/ Phoenix game so Brett was able to see his brother for his birthday as well. This was the first birthday that they have ever been a part from each other (besides on their missions). The Flames lost but Brett still had a great time down there visiting with everyone.

I made him a German chocolate cake the day before his birthday so the kids could sing to him because we wanted to go out the night of his b-day.

We went to visit Dad at work and eat cake with him and his staff.

Opening his presents

Brett was being really silly with the velvet tie I put on his gift.
Happy 30th to you and the Flames... Go Flames Go!! (Nine losses in a row)
The evening of Brett's birthday we went out with Dave and Sharon to a really cool restaurant called Bolero and then we went to see Avatar for Dave and Sharon's 1st, Nadine's 2nd and Brett's 3rd time. Such a great movie.

Brett loves chocolate cake so I decided to make Brett's mom's recipe of German chocolate cake for him. It turned out great and tasted delicious.
We had so much fun making your BIG day special. Hope you had a great one!!! We LOVE you!
