Ki's teeth

All Ki will have on his wish list for the next 3 or more Christmases is his two front teeth. In the beginning of December Ki bumped his top two front teeth on my knee as I was trying to keep him from teasing his brother. I quickly called Brett at school to ask him what I should do because his one tooth actually got pushed back and I had to put it back into place. We were able to get an appointment in the pedo clinic at Brett's school right away to see if his teeth were okay. They took x-rays and told us that they would be fine right now but would stay lose and eventually have to be taken out or fall out on their own. We booked another appointment to come back after Christmas to evaluate the teeth and to see if they were still fine. I felt so horrible because it was my knee that he smacked his teeth on.

So all during Christmas break we made sure he was careful with brushing his teeth and not eating on his front teeth. They actually started to tighten up and I was very hopeful that we wouldn't need to get them pulled out. We went back to see the dentist and he got another x-ray done which showed that they were infected and had to come out. I was so sad to hear that news.

The week before his appointment and the night before we talked a lot about 'happy air' (nitrous) and how the dentist will wiggle his tooth out. We also talked about the Tooth fairy coming and bring a special toy for him. He was pretty excited for the big day.

When we got to the pedo clinic I brought him back to the chair and said goodbye. He was way to excited that he didn't even respond back to me. During the time I was waiting, I had to ask someone just to make sure he wasn't scared and crying but of course he was just fine. After everything was done, Ki wasn't to sure about having gauze in his mouth and he kind of freaked out with tasting blood. After we left the clinic he started crying and would not stop. He kept saying "I want my teeth back". So we went and found Brett up in the main clinic where Brett was with one of his patients. Even seeing his dad didn't help him cheer up. I finally just had to put him in the car and give him a fruit snack to have him stop crying. Through out the day he kept saying that he wanted is teeth back so I had to keep reminding him that the Tooth fairy was coming that night.

Before bed we got everything ready and put his teeth in their treasure box and placed them under his pillow with a certificate that Ki's dentist gave him to give to the Toothfairy.
.
So the next morning we woke up to Ki getting all excited about a present beside his pillow. It was all wrapped up with a big tooth and a message from the Toothfairy on the front of it. He also got a quarter that was left under his pillow. He was so excited.

I love his toothless grin and I'm in love with his lisp that he has now.
It also makes him looks so big!!

Suns vs Warriors

Neither Brett nor I have ever been to a NBA basketball game before, so for Brett's birthday we got tickets to see the Golden Sate Warriors vs Phoenix Sun in Oakland. I have always wanted to see Steve Nash play but I was kind of disappointed in the Suns that night. It was still a lot of fun to watch and we had great seats except for the drunks behind us with their potty mouths.
